Alternately the average cost of a taxi each way from the Airport to Puerto Calero or Puerto del Carmen is about 20-25 euros each way

There is also a great local bus service when you leave the airport doors turn right, walk to the end and there is a bus stop, you will need the number 161 bus heading from the airport to Playa Blanca, this bus stops off at Puerto del Carmen for 1.40 euros one way or Puerto Calero 1.80 euros one way. The buses run roughly every hour if you would like a timetable please email us.

The local Marina of Puerto Calero and its vast choice of restaurants will welcome all riders and their families / spectators. We have secured a great HQ for the ride, here are a few of the restaurants and cafes available. Please do visit the great local shops. behind the marina front restaurants, lies an array of shops. Including, North Sails, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Gant.
CULTURE
Lanzarote is commonly known as Triathlon Island. The locals support cycling on the island and appreciate the tourism from our sport. You will find nearly all local vehicles, vans and trucks, pass cyclists using a FULL car width, or at least half a cars width, they will honk or put thumbs up at you! This ethos has grown due to the fact Lanzarote has been home to one of the hardest and best triathlons in the entire world, Ironman Lanzarote, the race is in its 26th year on the island and attracts over 2,000 competitors and 60,000 spectators every May. We would encourage all visitors to follow locals in respecting cyclists on the island and pass with due care and not close pass if you hire a car, we find most of the cars that do close pass are hire cars on the island, it may be customary in the United Kingdom to pass with less than a bikes width, it is not respected in Lanzarote, please promote holiday visitors / spectators to maintain these standards if hiring a car on the island.
